  • you asked if i switched my colors and theme or if you were seeing things or something?

i did switch... a couple times this weekend.

the theme i have now is my favorite

    i had it a couple times b4.

i may switch again at some point i'm not certain.

hope your week goes super well friend.

  • @clinttjohnson - Whew! Good, it wasn't just me. I've thought of switching this site to themes but haven't done so (yet). I've had it pretty much like this from not long after I first started blogging. I'm still not all that comfortable w/ themes but am getting more used to them (I use a theme on my other site).

I also hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

    Blessings in Christ,
    Karen

  • Nice looking couple. Maybe I get my netbook today.

  • Two of my favorite people!!

  • @ANVRSADDAY - I can't imagine hearing both Piper and Whitefield at the same time: so much passion and urgency there.

Have you got the netbook yet? This laptop is acting a little strangely when the power gets low, so I hope I don't have to send it back (or should I say DH will have to send it back) for a replacement...I still have the old one, but now I'm spoiled. The screen on this is really great, much easier on the eyes, though a bit smaller, and I have no memory problems. Plus I can plug the camera memory card into the side to download pictures.

  • @roseteacup - Yes, me too.

I've not been listening to much Piper lately however. I read Whitefield's Journals not long ago and hope to go through them again and blog on them (slowly - they're packed w/ so much good stuff).

  • @naphtali_deer -

I just received the netbook and is working fine. I am as inept with this one as the big one. lol I am basic in the use, but that is all I need right now.

It is about half the size of the one I bought for Norma.

  • @ANVRSADDAY - Glad you've got it! I'm pretty basic in the use of this one as well, though I am blessed to have a husband who is expert w/ computers.

  • Karen dear, Have you read Dallimore's two volumes on Whitefield? It will change your life.   I listen to Piper rather infrequently but enjoy him every time. I actually go on line here:  http://www.sermonindex.net/

where you can find a whole bunch of really wonderful messages. I am a big Major. Ian Thomas fan. I hope you can take advantage of it. Blessings on your day and love, m

  • @roseteacup - Maxine, No I've not read the two volumes yet; I have read the abridged version of Dallimore's book and thought it was wonderful. Last week I was actually was looking into getting the full two volumes but then decided instead to get book one of Murray's bio of Lloyd-Jones, "The First Forty Years."

I've read a little of Major Ian Thomas, but I'm not too familiar w/ him. Sermonindex is a great resource; thanks for the reminder; I've not been there for a while. The only messages I really try to listen to regularly are those of Lloyd-Jones (see here), though I'm way behind w/ those. There are so many good resources tucked away out there, but too little time, I'm afraid, so we do have to be selective and let God's Spirit guide us in our reading & listening.

May God richly bless you this day as well,
    Karen

  • Our youngest son is named Martyn (after Lloyd-Jones). His middle name is Christian after Pilgrim Progress. He is a youth pastor in CA. I read LJ's wife's book this summer called Sandhills. It is a lovely little book and very charming. I know what you mean. So many books, so little time and the neglect of the Word of God cannot be accepted.

  • Wonderful name for your son.

So many books, so little time and the neglect of the Word of God cannot be accepted.

Oh, yes, and I can be guilty of this so often; it is such a great temptation for me. Thank you for the much needed reminder!
