  • Thanks, Karen.

It was a simple start for me. 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved and your household.

I guess the Corinthians, Galatians, Sardians, and Laodocians all failed. Too bad.

I don't know quite how to describe my spiritual ride, but you know enough about me already to guess and probably know more about it than I do.

    Anyway, loved this read.

  • Remembering that 'fighting the good fight' is a daily thing...Enjoyed the post.

  • Do you count Jesus more precious than your everything?

This question - as well as the others - are so challenging because it is easy to get "caught up" in things of this world. But I know that I know I am nothing without Jesus. I just had a fabulous conversation with a teenage grandson - mostly about being committed to the Lord and allowing Jesus to transform our lives. I love when our grandchildren share their spiritual journey (and struggles) with me.

  • I can honestly say "yes" to this.  It's not about "do we accept Him?" It's about "does He know us and can He see in us a love that is without dissimulation?"  The crown of righteousness I'll leave to Him because He is just and good.  His love is unlike any other.

  • @ANVRSADDAY - We all start by faith, and our spiritual temperature does vary as we go along, but we are given those rebukes in the epistles, as well as Jesus' words to the churches in Revelation, plus similar words elsewhere in the Scripture as a merciful warning to us, so we might rightly examine ourselves.

@stephensmustang - Yes daily! The flesh lusts against the Spirit, the world continues to allure us, and the devil is constantly prowling – all attempting to rob us of the joy of our salvation.

@cerwindoris - It's so easy for any of us to get "caught up" in the things of the world. We need to be vigilant and constantly ask ourselves that question because our hearts are deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. I Cor. 10:12.

Thanks so much for sharing that wonderful conversation you had with your grandson. :)

@quest4god@revelife - Yes, saving faith is never merely a bland or blank acceptance, but, as Henry Scougal put it, it is the life of God in the soul of man. Born again of imperishable seed to walk in newness of life! We love Him because He first loved us!

About me...

Christian hedonist in training. Pressing on to know more and more of the joy of the LORD. Pleading with God to rend the heavens and revive and refresh my own soul, as well as His Church, to His praise, honor and glory.

Thank God. He can make men and women in middle life sing again with a joy that has been chastened by a memory of their past failures. ~ Alan Redpath
