  • I love Jesus and this time of year!  (I think you intended to say Ephesians 3:8)

  • @quest4god@revelife - Thanks for pointing out the typo!

    I think it's a sad commentary on the state of the Church today that so many Christians don't consider the events surrounding the incarnation other than at Christmas time. We all ought to marvel and continue to do so... Immanuel = God with us!

    Thou who wast rich beyond all splendour,
    All for love's sake becamest poor;
    Thrones for a manger didst surrender,
    Sapphire-paved courts for stable floor.
    Thou who wast rich beyond all splendour,
    All for love's sake becomes poor.

    The OT looked ahead to Christ's coming (as well as the second coming), and the NT celebrates His coming, not only into the world but into the hearts of His people, and of course, anticipates His coming again in glory!

    "The New Testament is latent in the Old Testament, and the Old Testament is patent in the New Testament." ~ Augustine

  • I always like to think about Mary this time of year - and all the things she had to ponder.

    I love, love the photo of the deer in the header of your posts. Did you take that picture?

  • @cerwindoris - It's hard to imagine what went through Mary's mind, but we know God always gives each of us grace for all He has for us.

    Yes, I did take that picture. In September, my husband & I traveled out west, including a stop in Montana in the area of the Lolo National Forest. In one of the forest areas that deer befriended me. :) She hung around for quite a long time and I got several good photos. My current profile pic is one of that same deer.
