Keep your heart with diligence, Take heed, beware the little foxes
I saw my Bridegroom there
Beheld Him in the mirrorI looked with great delight
Gazed upon Glory's lightHis banner of love greeted
In Christ's shadow I was seatedAt His banqueting house I was graced
I had heard of Him, but now I tastedDrank fruit of His vine
Thrilled with His new wineGrace upon grace bestowed
My cup filled and overflowedSupped and sustained
With cakes of raisinsUnder the apple tree
His fruit was sweetKeep your heart with diligence
Take heed, beware the little foxesThe devil is a liar
Prowling to conspireCrawling, creeping
Vile poison seepingTransforms into angelic choir
Dangling dainties, deceitful fireOur enemy, the wicked one,
Appearing bright as the sunHell-bent on destroying
Stealing life, the vines spoilingKeep your heart with diligence
Take heed, beware the little foxesCares and riches of this world
Choking out love for the PearlThough I tasted, ate and supped
Fellowship broken, my heart corruptA single glance, affection displaced
I stumbled on my heavenly raceI took up the weight I cast off
The devil laughed and he scoffedDeceived and captured by my pride
Forgive me for being an adulterous bride
Keep your heart with diligence
Take heed, beware the little foxesOne step down the path of darkness
Fullness of joy I forgo and forfeitTo You, incline my heart, purify my desire
To my bosom, may I not take wicked fireMy faithfulness is like the morning dew
All my best promises are irresoluteLord Jesus, You are faithful, You alone
By You I stand, else I hopelessly roamRedeemer, carry me all the way
Keep me till hoar hairs, all of my daysKeep your heart with diligence
Take heed, beware the little foxesSong of Solomon 2:15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Psalm 141:4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing,
to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.Proverbs 6:20 My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: 21 Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. 22 When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. 23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: 24 To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. 25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids. 26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life. 27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? 28 Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? 29 So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.
I John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Taking heed. Thanks K deer
"I took up the weight I cast off
The devil laughed and he scoffed"
Though he is cunning and sly, he can't seem to help gloating over his little "triumphs."

@quest4god@revelife - Oh, I'd not thought at all of that contrast at all w/ I Corinthians 13! Thanks so much for adding that here.
I believe so. But thanks for helping me ponder this. I walk earnestly with Him and obey what He puts on my heart and have no peace when I do not. I falter at times but I confess my sins regularly and am forgiven of all my folly and ignorances. Foxes surely come, but He confounds them and sends them back.
He is my treasure. He knows my many weaknesses and challenges, but always shows me grace throughout and gives me peace and His reassurance
when I'm doing what He asks of me. So that is why I believe so.
