Lenten Reflections: What HE Gave Up ~ Does His grace get you amazed?
Many people give up something for Lent.Have you ever considered what our Lord gave up?
Philippians 2:6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
From Lecrae's "God Is Enough"King who on the throne
Who left His heavenly home
Never did a thing wrong
They crucified Him on
A tree, there He made
It was crazy how it set the stage
For His resurrection from the grave
That gets me amazedDoes it get you amazed?
II Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.
Do you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ?
If you knew the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, wouldn't you be amazed?
Does His grace get you amazed?
Psalms 130
1 Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD!
2 O Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my pleas for mercy!
3 If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?
4 But with you there is forgiveness,
that you may be feared.
5 I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope;
6 my soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen for the morning,
more than watchmen for the morning.
7 O Israel, hope in the LORD!
For with the LORD there is steadfast love,
and with him is plentiful redemption.
8 And he will redeem Israel
from all his iniquities.
Do you stand amazed that the Lord Jesus Christ stood in your place and bore the wrath of God you deserved?Do you stand amazed that the Lord Jesus Christ stood in your place and took the punishment you deserved?
Do you stand amazed that the Lord Jesus Christ stood in your place so the record of debts that stood against you was canceled?
Do you stand amazed that you can stand in the presence of God forgiven, cleansed and unashamed?
I Stand Amazed
Charles H. Gabriel, 1905I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner, condemned, unclean.O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!For me it was in the garden
He prayed: “Not My will, but Thine.”
He had no tears for His own griefs,
But sweat drops of blood for mine.O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!In pity angels beheld Him,
And came from the world of light
To comfort Him in the sorrows
He bore for my soul that night.O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!He took my sins and my sorrows,
He made them His very own;
He bore the burden to Calvary,
And suffered and died alone.O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!When with the ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see,
’Twill be my joy through the ages
To sing of His love for me.O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!Do you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ?
Does His grace get you amazed?

Right now I'm watching loved ones struggling to hold on to things - to self. It is heartbreaking to watch because I'm there too. But not as much as before. He must increase, increase. After all He is the Lord of all creation, yet He was willing to let that go in order to save us.
A year ago, I was called upon to forget self and to give to someone who really couldn't go as far as I could in that....I am so glad God enabled me. He is still teaching me.
@quest4god@revelife - The only One we must continue to hold on to, to cling to, is Christ! He alone fully satisfies the sou's hunger and thirst.
He is still teaching me as well. He leads His flock like a Shepherd – that includes each and every sheep! Not one will be missing!
Mm, that I Stand Amazed tune was playing in my head as I was reading the lines before you quoted that song...and there it was! And Lecrae as well. Tis a good post after all.
Grace is what taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved.

Was I reading your mind – or were you reading mine? o.O Great minds think alike ~ llamas and deer think alike.
As long as there's Lecrae, it's all good, eh?
If only we would take the time to sit and linger at His feet like Mary, to behold His glory... Looking unto JESUS! Behold the Lamb!
Grace is what taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved. - Amen! Amazing grace indeed! Perfect love casts out ALL fear! We HAVE peace with GOD!
