  • Good Morning Karen, Nicely written. I think the guy's name is Obed-Edom. The Ark of God was in his house 3 months and everything and everyone was super duper blessed beyond all expectations. David hear about it and retrieved the Ark properly according to the Law.

I see Obed-Edom again as a gate keeper or something like that. I fail to check it our, but it would not surprise me that with the 3 month experience with God's blessings, he may have gone to Jerusalem to be near God.

Anyway, love your verses here. I have read them many many times, and need to read them again because I am going through around round of self-pity. Bummer. I hate it when  I do that.

    Excellent post today.

  • A servant's heart.  A gift from God, as is godliness with contentment.  It doesn't look like the path to greatness until we look at Jesus Himself...God has highly exalted Him and given Him a Name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

O, for grace to be a doorkeeper!

  • @ANVRSADDAY - Hmm... It so happens I'd already had been writing about that incident w/ the ark & end up posting it last night. Like you, I've found myself lapsing into a lot of self-pity lately; it's really repugnant to me when I do that ~ Psalm  73. The Word of God and the Spirit of God are the only remedies to combat that self-pity. May He give us grace to look away to Jesus so we might persevere in the race set before us!

  • @quest4god@revelife - Yes, godliness w/ contentment is a gift of God for sure! I know I am in need of great grace. Thank God He pours out water on those who are thirsty ~ Isaiah 44:1-5.
