"He is my Sustenance" ~ remembering my sister & my friend - a triumph of His grace
My dear sister in Christ,You blessed us with this brief but sublime testimony of the living God in your dying days:
I believe in God.
I believe in His Son, Jesus Christ.
He is my Sustenance. This morning, you were not there among us as we sang Charles Wesley's hymn, "O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing."
O for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer's praise,
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of His grace!
This morning, you were not there as I choked and teared up on that last line:The triumphs of His grace!
This morning, it occurred to me then that you, my sister and my friend, ARE a triumph of His grace!
You were saved by Christ's grace and sustained by Christ's grace!
Many called you wise.
And yes, you were wise, but your wisdom came from Christ in you,
your Sustenance!Blessed are you who knew Him as your Sustenance!
O for a thousand tongues to sing
Our great Redeemer's praise,
The glories of our God and King,
You are a triumph of His grace!
Many called you strong.
And yes, you were strong, but your strength came from Christ in you,
your Sustenance!Blessed are you who knew Him as your Sustenance!
O for a thousand tongues to sing
Our great Redeemer's praise,
The glories of our God and King,
You are a triumph of His grace! Many called you good.
And yes, you were good, but your goodness came from Christ in you,
your Sustenance!Blessed are you who knew Him as your Sustenance!
O for a thousand tongues to sing
Our great Redeemer's praise,
The glories of our God and King,
You are a triumph of His grace! Many called you kind.
And yes, you were kind, but your kindness came from Christ in you,
your Sustenance!Blessed are you who knew Him as your Sustenance!
O for a thousand tongues to sing
Our great Redeemer's praise,
The glories of our God and King,
You are a triumph of His grace! Many called you loving.
And yes, you were loving, but your love came from Christ in you,
your Sustenance!Blessed are you who knew Him as your Sustenance!
O for a thousand tongues to sing
Our great Redeemer's praise,
The glories of our God and King,
You are a triumph of His grace!Blessed are you among women, for Christ gave you grace to know Him as your Sustenance!
Blessed am I among women, for Christ gave me grace to know Him as my Sustenance and you as my sister and friend!
Enjoy your uninterrupted communion with your Sustenance; I look forward to being there with you both soon!In Christ's love, your sister saved and sustained by His grace,
Karen* * *Blessed are all who know Jesus Christ as their Sustenance!

@ANVRSADDAY - @dmcx2010 - Thank you both!
He is her Sustenance even now! What a wonderful testimony and heritage to leave for those she loves! Thanks, Karen, for your ministry to her unto the end. Psalm 116 (again/still)
@quest4god@revelife - Amen - He is her Sustenance even now! It was a blessing and privilege hear her speak those words, as well as a blessing and privilege to be able share them with others. Thanks once more for Psalm 116; it has become even more precious to me as of late.
