  • Ah. One of my brother's favourite songs...

  • Karen, you have a youthful spirit! I haven't listened to contemporary Christian since the late 80's, although I slipped up and went to a Steven Curtis Chapman church concert in 2008 (but is he really contemporary?). Your posts on being Christ-obsessed and holy-ambitioned are very timely and welcome.

  • @llamalima - Are you saying I act like a teenager? Oh,wait you are a teenager also.

This concert was probably one of my favorites since we were so close to the stage and it wasn't a really huge crowd, and everyone sounded really good.

  • @CitizenDon - I must admit my husband & I were a couple of the oldest people there. I'd let up in listening to music  up until a few years ago. At the time, a friend who is a huge Passion fan loaned me a bunch of her CDs when she went on a trip out of the country. That helped to get me to listening again. I really love music. I always have. Even when attending the Catholic Church as a child, I did like singing the hymns (not that I knew what they meant!). (Well, no, I didn't like piano lessons. ) I find music/worship to be a huge part of life now. I listen to music a lot of the time and find it so uplifting, challenging, etc. I don't know if I will be listening to Group 1 Crew a year from now, but I'm enjoying them atm. Their vocals are really amazing.

(I don't know if I would say Stephen Curtis Chapman is contemporary either. )

I'm thankful you've appreciated my posts. I know it's so easy for any of us to become distracted, to slip up and to lose that Kingdom orientation. The cares of this life are constantly working to choke out the good seed. I went through most of my Christian life and didn't real have the passion for God He wanted. I want to use my time left to honor Him and want to encourage others to do the same.

About me...

Christian hedonist in training. Pressing on to know more and more of the joy of the LORD. Pleading with God to rend the heavens and revive and refresh my own soul, as well as His Church, to His praise, honor and glory.

Thank God. He can make men and women in middle life sing again with a joy that has been chastened by a memory of their past failures. ~ Alan Redpath
