  • lol Second attempt to comment.

Again, I am starting for the 3rd time.

I liked this post. It reminded me of a few things.

Christ resides in me with His power. Without Him and His power I can do nothing worthwhile.

Claim more prayer promises--Like Matt 7:7 ASK

Try to clear out the trivial in my life.

    Have a nice weekend, Karen

  • Isn't it amazing?  We so often begin to "do" and forget that we've never even asked if what we have decided to do bears any resemblance to the work He has for us to do.  It can never be as successful in the spiritual realm when we are "out there" on our own, having "called" ourselves....Then we proceed to claim that we are glorifying God.  It's just not the same as waiting on Him.

  • @ANVRSADDAY - Frank, thanks so much for persevering to make your comment here. I hope the latest Xanga glitches are behind us.

These are all wonderful! God has recently been driving home to me the idea of praying for the hard things. We have not b/c we ask not.

    Christ's blessings,

    Karen

Yes! This is a timely comment for me. Thank you! I'm glad I'm rereading it tonight. God keeps checking my worldly wisdom...

Isaiah 5:21: Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
and shrewd in their own sight!

  • @naphtali_deer - I like that verse also.  It is no good assuming that we have the go-ahead for something that we've "decided" to do without checking with our Lord. Remembering principles is good, but specifics pertain only to the present assignment....I think that is what I mean.

About me...

Christian hedonist in training. Pressing on to know more and more of the joy of the LORD. Pleading with God to rend the heavens and revive and refresh my own soul, as well as His Church, to His praise, honor and glory.

Thank God. He can make men and women in middle life sing again with a joy that has been chastened by a memory of their past failures. ~ Alan Redpath
