the harvested rejoicing in the harvest (letter 41 on assurance & joy)
Father, You are the Husbandman.
Son, You are the true Vine
Holy Spirit, You are my Life. Here I am laboring in Your harvest field.
Here I am bearing fruit from Your harvest field.
Here I am rejoicing in the harvest.
How did I get here?
How can it be?I am the harvested, the fruit of Your vine, I have neither life nor breath apart from You...
yet here I am...
laboring Your harvest field
bearing fruit from Your harvest field
rejoicing in the harvest
How can it be?I am the harvested, an object of mercy who should have known wrath, called and sent back to Your harvest field...
here I am...
laboring Your harvest field
bearing fruit from Your harvest field
rejoicing in the harvest
How can it be?I am the harvested, saved by grace through faith, called and sent back to Your harvest field...
here I am...
laboring Your harvest field
bearing fruit from Your harvest field
rejoicing in the harvest
How can it be?Here I am...
The harvested has become a harvester.
How can it be?Called by You, sent by You to sow...with what? I have no seed of my own – but I have Your incorruptible Gospel seed.
Called by You, sent by You to water...with what? I have no water of my own – but I have Your living Water.
Called by You, sent by You to work...with what? I have no power of my own – but I have Your mighty Spirit.I am the fruit of Your labor, not of mine own works, yet I have been given the privilege of working in Your harvest field.
Here I am...
The harvested has become a harvester...
laboring Your harvest field
bearing fruit from Your harvest field
rejoicing in the harvest
How can it be?I am the fruit of Your labor, Your Spirit birthed me to life, yet today I can rejoice in the fruit You are allowing me to reap.
Here I am...
The harvested has become a harvester...
laboring Your harvest field
bearing fruit from Your harvest field
rejoicing in the harvest
How can it be?I am the fruit of Your labor, You carried me on Your eagles' wings, yet You allow me to carry the firstfruits of Your harvest to You.
Here I am...
The harvested has become a harvester...
laboring Your harvest field
bearing fruit from Your harvest field
rejoicing in the harvest
How can it be?I, the harvested, am awed that You allow me to share in the joy of Your harvest.
I, the fruit of Your harvest, am awed that You allow me to rejoice with You in the fruit of Your harvest. The harvested rejoicing in the harvest!
How can it be?
(As if Your free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ were not more than enough for me to rejoice in already...)

It is amazing how this makes me feel. I could never say what you have written so eloquently. Thank you for the whole post.
How can it be that I have moved from harvested to harvester? Please pray for me. I want to be the harvester that Christ expects me to be.
Thank you.
@kjlindgren - You're welcome. God is good. He graciously gave me a little taste of the firstfruits and then helped me to write this in praise to Him. You know how I've struggled when I don't see fruit.
I am praying for you, but know that you are already harvesting (and will yet harvest) since you are being faithful to Him. It's hard when we don't "see," but that's what faith is all about. To persevere even when we don't see. And know that you have so encouraged me in so many ways, and what I'm doing here is part of the fruit of your words and prayers for me.
Psalm 126:5 Those who sow in tears
shall reap with shouts of joy!
6 He who goes out weeping,
bearing the seed for sowing,
shall come home with shouts of joy,
bringing his sheaves with him.
Hebrews 11:6 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
We fight to see, but we're to walk by faith. We crave results, but we can trust we will reap in due time, God's time, not our time. May He keep us faithful regardless of what we see.
