  • hanging, crucified ... I'm dying here

    hanging
    crucified
    O, Lord, where are You?
O, Lord, do not forsake me
    gasping for breath...
    I'm dying here...
    have mercy on me...
    be gracious to me

    bruised
    crushed
    O, Lord, where are You?
O, Lord, do not forsake me
    gasping for breath...
    I'm dying here...
    have mercy on me...
    be gracious to me

    broken
    spilled
    O, Lord, where are You?
O, Lord, do not forsake me
    gasping for breath...
    I'm dying here...
    have mercy on me...
    be gracious to me

    wounded
    bleeding
    O, Lord, where are You?
O, Lord, do not forsake me
    gasping for breath...
    I'm dying here...
    have mercy on me...
    be gracious to me

    squeezed
    molded
    O, Lord, where are You?
O, Lord, do not forsake me
    gasping for breath...
    I'm dying here...
    have mercy on me...
    be gracious to me

    immersed
    drowned
    O, Lord, where are You?
O, Lord, do not forsake me
    gasping for breath...
    I'm dying here...
    have mercy on me...
    be gracious to me

    No, My child,
    be still now and know
    I am God
    listen to Me
    to My Spirit,
    not your flesh

    No, My child,
    you're not dying
    you're just beginning
    to live now
    to breathe
    through Me

    you're only learning
to know what it means to know Me and seek Me and live.
all this, all of this, that you've wanted to go away
all this has been part of My manifold mercies and rich grace to you
is your heart not now broken and contrite?
open your eyes now, behold! I have come to revive you

    My child,
    you are My new creation
that you might be crucified and die
    with Me
so you might no longer live but live
    with Me
and know the power of My resurrection

    My child,
    remember
    while you are
    hanging
    while you are
    crucified
    while you are
    gasping for breath
    while you are
    dying there
    I am
    with you
    watching over you
bringing My resurrection life to you

    My child,
    remember
    you are My child
    I have not forsaken you
I am always watching over you
    for good
    how can I not?

    My child,
    remember
    you were born again
    of My word
(and My word abides in you)
I am always watching over My word
to see that it is fulfilled
in you and in all My children
    how can I not?

    My child,
    remember
    all that
    bruising
    crushing
    breaking
    spilling
    wounding
    bleeding
    squeezing
    molding
    immersing
    drowning
    all of it
    comes through Me
    all of it
    Divinely ordained
    mercy and grace
    through My cross
    through My blood
    through My Spirit
    so you might be crucified
    so you might breathe
    and live
    and walk
    by Me
    through Me
    for Me
    to Me
    in all the works
    Divinely ordained
    for you

  • My thoughts exactly.

  • I feel Him. I feel His mercies upon me. All these, my sentiments exactly.

  • A good way to keep things in perspective when going through self-denial, or, if one chooses, fasting.

  • Another nice posting Karen. Thanks

I sure like what Romans says about all the co-crucifixion,resurrection, and new life stuff. It is kind of over my head because I am still alive on a very difficult planet, but knowing Christ resides within me with His resurrection power is a great comfort.

I guess few will even come close to understanding His agony on the cross which involved a lot more than the awful physical pain.

    Anyway, thanks Karen

  • @llamalima - Sanctification...it's a beautiful thing but can't happen apart from crucifixion & death...

  • @dazzlezlizella - Amen for His continuing and all-sufficient mercies to us.

  • @WLCALUM - Yes, absolutely...to see His good hand on us molding us into His image, softening our hard hearts & breaking up the fallow ground, so His life might grow and thrive in us.

  • @FRANK@revelife - Romans 6-7 are crucial. It's certainly a mystery when we consider that Christ's resurrection life, His Holy Spirit dwells in us, yet it is a reality. We need to continue to surrender to His Spirit, to mortify the flesh by His Spirit, so we might have increasing victory over sin and self so we might resemble Christ more and more. We all should be striving to learn experientially what it means to be crucified with Christ so we no longer live but Christ lives in us. God will be faithful to lead us and teach us as we put ourselves at His feet...
