temptation
the Liar speaks: "Be free! Go on! Live for self, take and eat of the fruit of that tree and you will live."temptation surrounds me
darkness clouds my way
confusion in my mind
my heart divided
fiery darts fly at me
my flesh is raging
my lust is shouting
my pulse is beating
unholy passion burns
sin is dominating
i hunger
i thirst
i cry
i groan
i reach for the fruit
i eat
i'm sinking
i'm dying here
the serpent has deceived me
i'm in his grip
enslaved
servant of sin
to death
who will free me
to really live?the Savior proclaims: "Be free! Go on! Die to self, take and eat of Me who hung on the tree and you will live."
escape provided
belt of truth enlightens
helmet of salvation protects my mind
breastplate guards my heart
shield of faith extinguishes the fiery darts
His Spirit is mortifying
His lust is crucifying
His life is pulsing
holy passion burns
righteousness is ruling
i reach for the hem of His garment
i eat of Him
i drink of Him
i cry, "Abba, Father"
i groan along with His Spirit
i'm rising
i'm living here
He crushed the serpent
i'm in my Savior's grip
free
servant of God
to life
Christ has set me free
to really live!
Hallelujah!I Peter 1:1 Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God.

You sure write at an excellent level in sharing these profound truths about the Lord and the life He offers. I am sort of down in the trenches, but did catch a glimpse of the deep truth you are sharing. I always wish I could have lived a better life, but I just love the way the Lord speaks to me from His word. I must have hauled in a truck-load of grace in my sorry life.
Blessings,
FRANK

@FRANK@revelife - Frank, Christ offers that life to all who have believed on Him, so as long as you have life here, you have opportunity live the life He intends through His Holy Spirit Who dwells in you. And we've all needed to haul in a truck-load of grace. Thanks be to God that His grace abounds to the chief of sinners.
@Evangelist_Guy - Yes, indeed. Thank God for Jesus' all-sufficient healing power!
@cerwindoris - Yes, Amen & Hallelujah!

Thank you for expressing so much of what I have been feeling lately. Christ has set me free, despite all that has happened in my past life. Praise the LORD.

@kjlindgren - Christ has set me free, despite all that has happened in my past life. Praise the LORD.
Amen, Kelly! (And we need to keep reminding one another of that truth.)
