  • let's not forget ~ reflections on Christmas (& everyday) for Christians

While untangling the Christmas lights, let's not forget the True Light who left heaven to shine on us and lead us out of darkness.

While stringing the Christmas lights on the tree, let's not forget to give Jesus Christ, the Light of the world, our full adoration.

While delighting in the various colors of the lights, let's not forget to appreciate the varieties of gifts given by the same Spirit.

While admiring the bright lights as we sit in the dark, let's not forget we are called to shine as lights in a dark world.

While writing festive Christmas messages, let's not forget to rejoice in the angels' message of good tidings of great joy.
While sending Christmas cards, let's not forget the Father's love that sent His only begotten Son to die for us.

While seeking to buy just the right gifts, let's not forget how God sought us when we weren't able to seek Him.

While wrapping our gifts, let's not forget to give thanks to the Father for sending His Son into the world veiled in flesh and wrapped in swaddling clothes

While mailing our packages near and far, let's not forget we are sent to preach the Gospel of repentance and remission of sins to all nations.

While paying for our groceries at the check-out, let's not forget God's call to come, buy and eat the wine and milk without money or cost.

While drinking our holiday beverages, let's not forget the Living Water and the Holy One who turned water into wine.

While baking and eating our Christmas goodies, let's not forget to eat of the True Bread from heaven.

While savoring the myriad smells of the season, let's not forget we're to be the aroma of Christ wherever we go.

When breathing in the scent of the freshly cut tree, let's not forget the tree on which the King of glory died.

While hanging the stockings, let's not forget the spotless Lamb who hung on the cross in our place.

While singing those wonderful carols, let's not forget the Christ about Whom, for Whom and to Whom we're singing.

While lighting the fire in the hearth, let's not forget the atoning sacrifice sent to save us from the lake of fire.

When enjoying the flames burning in the fireplace, let's not forget to continue to ask for the Holy Spirit to come and burn away our dross.

While watching the snow flakes sparkle in the quiet night, let's not forget to remember the Lamb's Blood that makes us whiter than snow.

While feeling the winter wind whipping in our faces, let's not forget to ask God to blow away the chaff and breathe life once again into our dry bones.

While delighting in the wonder of children on Christmas morning, let's not forget to delight in the God who humbled Himself and became a child.

While watching a young child cling tightly to her favorite gift, let's not forget to rejoice that no one is able to snatch us from our Father's hand.

While exchanging gifts with one another, let's not forget to praise God for exchanging Christ's perfect righteousness for our filthy rags.
