ALL God's people singing, "He reigns" (Letter 28 on assurance & joy)
O Lord God, our Redeemer,
Yesterday I was quite sad and it was difficult for me to rejoice.
Our Father, we are Your children by grace through faith, we've all been cleansed and washed by the precious blood of Your Son Jesus Christ, we've all born again of Your Holy Spirit. I am praying you would bring us together in fullness of joy so we can sing together the song of the redeemed. It is to Your joy and to our joy that we sing together in one accord and with one mind. We are all of one Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus Christ. We may "sing" different theologies, yet help us to welcome our brothers and sisters who sing a bit differently than us, even though those tunes may seem a bit disharmonious to some of us. One thing we can and must sing together is the song of the Redeemed, the new song of praise You have put into our mouths.
And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.When we don't sing that song together, how can the world know we are Your disciples? As we "sing" together, the world will come to see You in us and to come to know Your fullness of joy. You've created us and called us out of darkness into Your marvelous light to be a people who proclaim Your praises to the end of the earth. We were not a people but now we are a people. We had not obtained mercy, but now we have obtained mercy. I ask You would help us all to keep our eyes fixed on You and to continue to sing worship and praise to You for You alone are worthy to receive glory and honor and power! Help us to start singing together so the kingdom of darkness might be rolled back and the Kingdom of Light might be seen throughout this dark earth, so your glory would roll in and fill the earth as the waters cover the seas!
Revelation 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, all of You who sing the new song, let's sing it together, shall we,
for the sake of His Name, so His joy and our joy might be full!(Here's the newsboys' song "He Reigns" and afterwards, I've included a variation on the lyric.)
HE REIGNS
It’s the song of the redeemed
Rising from the African plain
It’s the song of the forgiven
Drowning out the Amazon rain
The song of Asian believers
Filled with God’s holy fire
It’s every tribe, every tongue, every nation
A love song born of a grateful choirIt’s all God’s children singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns
It’s all God’s children singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reignsLet it rise about the four winds
Caught up in the heavenly sound
Let praises echo from the towers of cathedrals
To the faithful gathered underground
Of all the songs sung from the dawn of creation
Some were meant to persist
Of all the bells rung from a thousand steeples
None rings truer than thisAnd all the powers of darkness
Tremble at what they’ve just heard
‘Cause all the powers of darkness
Can’t drown out a single wordWhen all God’s children sing out
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns
All God’s people singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns* * * * * * *
It’s ALL God’s children singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns
It’s ALL God’s children singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reignsAnd all the powers of darkness
Tremble at what they’ve just heard
‘Cause all the powers of darkness
Can’t drown out a single wordWhen ALL God’s children
Arminians and Calvinists
sing out
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reignsALL
God’s people
Arminians and Calvinists
singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns

I am praying for your encouragement! Open your Spirit to the Spirit of Christ-- be filled with Him and in him take delight! Be aware of what he testifies in your heart and you will be given great joy! I encourage you to go and read bwebbjr@xanga latest entry which asks the question "Is sinlessness possible" (or something along those lines). In it he testifies (by the Spirit) that it is Christ alone that brings to us perfection. It was nothing "new" to me, but still it filled me with great encouragement to hear him testifying as only one can do by the Spirit!
-- Father God, I ask that your Spirit be upon Karen. Just as your Spirit fills all your children and with one mind they Testify that YOU are God alone. With a new heart we all proclaim that only your Son brings life; in this testimony we gratify the Spirit and find joy. Fill Karen with the Hope that sustains all the ages until the end of ages. Extend eternal life unto her, as you already have done. I ask for her, and I ask for your Son that he may be glorified through her testimony and her life. That in her, ALL will see that "He Reigns!, Glory Hallelujah, He Reigns!" Let your Children all be purified-saints, marching for you. Bought with the Blood of your Son, I ask in His Name. So may it be (Amen)!
I like that song, and dig the Newsboys
I like that song...note that isn't really related. When they came to Wellington, New Zealand. They were like, "It’s the song of the forgiven Drowning out the Wellington rain"...
Anyway, i did read something interesting yesterday, it said, Unity in essentials, Diversity in non-essentials and in everything love.
There is a reason so many of us who love Jesus also like that song. It's got to be one of His favorites too. He prayed especially for us in the garden of Gethsemane that we would be one as He and the Father are one, and that we would be in Him and He in us. The praise of all the saints truly will drown out all the noise and clamor in the world!
@deepestrecesses@revelife - David, thank you so much for your prayer here (as well your continued prayers & support). I find it difficult to rejoice when I see disunity, but God is helping me to rejoice in Him again.
Let your Children all be purified-saints, marching for you. Bought with the Blood of your Son, I ask in His Name. So may it be (Amen)!
Amen and Amen!
@Pastor_AndyG and @llamalima - I've been on a newsboys kick lately...God has used their music to help keep me sane lately.
Unity in essentials, Diversity in non-essentials and in everything love. I quoted that a couple days before this...Actually In essentials, unity; in nonessentials, liberty; and in all things, charity. Same idea...
@quest4god@revelife - The praise of all the saints truly will drown out all the noise and clamor in the world! Amen. Lord, make it so! Father make us one!
