a famine of hearing the words of the LORD
Lord, You know there's a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.
I'm waiting to hear Your voice.
I've been seated in sanctuaries who claim Your Name.
I've heard orthodox teaching without the life and fire of Your Spirit.
I've heard moralism. I've heard legalism.
I'm still not hearing You there.
Where are Your words of Life?
Where are You, Lord?
How long, O Lord?
I'm crying out here.
Don't You want to speak to Your flock in the temple?
There are countless sheep there without a Shepherd
Sheep who are malnourished and scattered
Don't You see them, O great Shepherd of the sheep?
Don't You weep for them, O Lamb of God?
Where are You?
Where is Your Word?
How can they be fed if there's a famine of hearing Your Word, O Lord?*still silence*
Lord, don't You know there's a famine of hearing the words of the LORD?
I'm waiting to hear Your voice.
I've been seated on the mountain top with You.
I've been waiting on the watchtower.
I'm still not hearing You here.
Where are Your words of Life?
Where are You, Lord?
How long, O Lord?
I'm crying out here.
I want to go stand in the temple and speak all You say to me.
There are countless sheep there without a Shepherd
Sheep who are hungry and thirsty
Don't You see them, O great Shepherd of the sheep?
Don't You weep for them, O Lamb of God?
Where are You?
Where is Your Word?
How can I speak Your word if You don't give me anything to say?*"Though it tarries, wait for it. It will surely come."*
Lord, didn't You tell me to speak all You say to me?
I'm waiting to hear Your voice
I've been seated with Mary at Your feet
Yet You tell me to wait a little longer to hear You.
Where are Your words of Life?
Where are You, Lord?
How long, O Lord?
I'm crying out here.
I want to go stand in the temple and speak all You say to me.
There are countless sheep there without a Shepherd
Sheep who are dying apart from the words of the LORD.
Don't You see them, O great Shepherd of the sheep?
Don't You weep for them, O Lamb of God?
Where are You?
Where is Your Word?
How can I speak if You don't give me anything to say?*"Come sit at My feet, My child, and eat of Me. Return to Me and pray they would return to Me."*
I gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities,
and lack of bread in all your places,
yet you did not return to me,
declares the LORD.
7 I also withheld the rain from you
when there were yet three months to the harvest;
I would send rain on one city,
and send no rain on another city;
one field would have rain,
and the field on which it did not rain would wither;
8 so two or three cities would wander to another city
to drink water, and would not be satisfied;
yet you did not return to me,
declares the LORD.
9 I struck you with blight and mildew;
your many gardens and your vineyards,
your fig trees and your olive trees the locust devoured;
yet you did not return to me,
declares the LORD.
10 I sent among you a pestilence after the manner of Egypt;
I killed your young men with the sword,
and carried away your horses,
and I made the stench of your camp go up into your nostrils;
yet you did not return to me,
declares the LORD.
11 I overthrew some of you,
as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah,
and you were as a brand plucked out of the burning;
yet you did not return to me,
declares the LORD.
12 Therefore thus I will do to you, O Israel;
because I will do this to you,
prepare to meet your God, O Israel!
13 For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind,
and declares to man what is his thought,
who makes the morning darkness,
and treads on the heights of the earth—
the LORD, the God of hosts, is his name!
...
For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel: Seek me and live...
(Amos 4:6-13; 5:4)

Hmm, I don't have time to read this now but I definatly have to! You might find the post I just put up is similar? I haven't read yours yet though so I'll find out. =]
@poetically_truthful - No, I've not read yours. Will go do so now. Thanks.
"Seek me and live..." Amen.
"For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel: Seek me and live...He is our life. Whom have we in heaven but Him?
@poetically_truthful and @quest4god@revelife - Amen.
Your post makes me think of Moses, who when called by the Lord to speak to the Egyptians and Israelites said he wasn't capable, giving many excuses (Exodus 3 and 4). The Lord did give him words (and look what happened). In your post you write about God not giving you a clear path or the words to say. (Where is that burning bush right now?) I share your sorrow for all those who are not hearing God's word, even many of those who sit in churches. I will pray with you for God's word to be heard and for the return of the sheep to the Shepherd.
Your post was great, very moving. Thank you.
@kjlindgren - The words will come. The burden is there. I've been impatient (think Peter) and He's shown me I need to wait for His timing.
You know the burden I have for those in the church who are not really being fed. We know God never forsakes His own and I have to trust by faith our heavenly Father will feed His children with heavenly manna and there would be many basketfuls of leftovers. At times my faith is quite small when I see the Gospel being twisted, minimalized and marginalized – but the just live by faith, and we walk by faith and not by sight.
