the sparrow reminds us
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.
30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
–Matthew 10:29-31
While out walking this morning, I saw several sparrowsand then considered...
Many of us who are in Christ may have fallen to the ground.
We may have fallen far, fallen hard and fallen badly.Yet, even as we have fallen,
fallen far, fallen hard and fallen badly,
we can take heart:
not one of us has fallen there apart from our Father,
even the hairs of our heads are numbered.
We need not fear for we are of more value than many sparrows:
indeed we are His adopted children,
purchased by the precious blood of Christ
sealed with the Holy Spirit. When we aren't able to humble ourselves under His mighty hand,
does not our heavenly Father sometimes allow us to fall to the ground?God resists the proud,
but gives grace to the humble.
When we are having difficulty resisting the devil and submitting to God,
when we are unable to draw near to God
so He might draw near to us,
does not our heavenly Father sometimes allow us fall to the ground
so He can exalt us at the proper time?Yet, even as we have fallen,
fallen far, fallen hard and fallen badly,
we can take heart:
not one of us has fallen there apart from our Father,
even the hairs of our heads are numbered.
We need not fear for we are of more value than many sparrows:
indeed we are His adopted children,
purchased by the precious blood of Christ
sealed with the Holy Spirit.Does our heavenly Father still not doeth all things well, even when He allows one of His children to fall to the ground?
Is our heavenly Father still not working all things for our good, even when He allows one of His children to fall to the ground?Does not our heavenly Father sometimes allow us fall to the ground
so He can humble us and come and dwell with us and revive us?Does not the God who is high and lifted up,
the God who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy,
the God who doeth all things well,
though He dwells in the high and holy place,
does He not also dwell with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly,
and to revive the heart of the contrite? For even as we have fallen,
fallen far, fallen hard and fallen badly,
we can take heart:
not one of us has fallen there apart from our Father,
even the hairs of our heads are numbered.
We need not fear for we are of more value than many sparrows:
indeed we are His adopted children,
purchased by the precious blood of Christ
sealed with the Holy Spirit.Does our heavenly Father still not doeth all things well, even when He allows one of His children to fall to the ground?
Is our heavenly Father still not working all things for our good, even when He allows one of His children to fall to the ground?
Does our heavenly Father still not doeth all things well, even when He allows you to fall to the ground?
Is our heavenly Father still not working all things for your good, even when He allows you to fall to the ground? Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Karen, this one is simply wonderful. Boy, I sure crash landed a few times. Somehow God used those times to shape me up more than the good times. Once when we were disparately poor, my Jewish boss said that the company had won a sales contest, and even though I was not in sales, he said that I and and Norma were going to be granted part of the prize---an all expense paid vacation to Hawaii staying at the Rainbow Hilton on Waikiki Beach. Words fail me in sharing how wonderful that vacation from the Father was. Later in life, God gave me an all expense paid trip to the hospital for 3 weeks with a rare form of whooping cough. I almost died 4 or 5 times--blue light specials. During that time, I really got to know the Father a lot better. He did pick me up off the ground and restored me to living again.
Have a nice Sunday, Karen,
Blessings,
frank
God is our loving Father. That's all we need to know because:
we are His adopted children, purchased by the precious blood of Christsealed with the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Amen to your post. Yes, it reminded me the times I have fallen, and yet the Lord has granted me the highs.
Thanks Karen for reminding me how much My Father in heaven loves me which I keep forgetting...
@ANVRSADDAY - Amen, Frank. Praising God for His goodness to you.
I can so relate to this:
Boy, I sure crash landed a few times. Somehow God used those times to shape me up more than the good times.
I don't understand that but I guess there are we're flying so high and full of ourselves that we need to "crash land," to be brought down so we will look up to Him and we might be filled w/ His Spirit.
@quest4god@revelife - Amen, my brother.
There are times if we know nothing else, if we can but cling to the truth that God is our loving Father (as opposed to the lies of Satan who tells us that God does not love us, that God is not for us), we will be not faint (II Cor. 4:7-18). May the LORD lift your head and keep you looking to the things that are not seen and to Him, the invisible God.
@Mal_P - You're welcome. God continues to be good to His children through it all. We always need to be reminding ourselves and one another of our Father's love for us because Satan is constantly trying to get us to doubt God's goodness to us in Jesus Christ. Romans 8:31-32.
Peace in Christ,
Karen
Yes, Thank you!!! from a sparrow of tender heart who always needs to be reminded that the Father loves me more than I love Him. Blessings on your week sweet sister in Jesus. M
@roseteacup - Maxine, You're welcome. I too am
"a sparrow of tender heart" (I love how you put that), but thanks be to God that He knows our frame and gives us such precious reminders and tokens of His love for us just when we need them. He will never allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear...
Christ's blessings to you as well, sister.
In Him,
Karen
