  • How devoted are you to Him?

Another trip to the used bookstore over the weekend, another new CD (new for me), Hillsong United's "All of the Above." I thought the song "Devotion" was a wonderful follow-up to my post "You follow Me!" (Are we steadfastly setting our faces to His will?). (Please note: the audio & video are a little off sync.)

Then Jesus told his disciples, If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what shall a man give in return for his life? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. Matthew 16:24-27.

Holy Spirit, work in us a devotion to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind and with all our strength. Our spirits are willing but our flesh is weak. Fill our vision with Your glory so we might be single-eyed for You alone.

About me...

Christian hedonist in training. Pressing on to know more and more of the joy of the LORD. Pleading with God to rend the heavens and revive and refresh my own soul, as well as His Church, to His praise, honor and glory.

Thank God. He can make men and women in middle life sing again with a joy that has been chastened by a memory of their past failures. ~ Alan Redpath
