  • Thanksgiving Eve: How hungry are you for Him?

Most of us are looking forward to eating a hearty Thanksgiving meal tomorrow. As we look ahead to tomorrow, perhaps we should be asking ourselves:

How hungry are we for Him?

How thirsty are we for Him?

Do we hunger and thirst as much for Jesus as we do for our meal tomorrow?

Do we schedule our days around eating and drinking of Him just as we've scheduled our day tomorrow around our Thanksgiving meal?

Do we look forward to our next "meal" with Jesus as much as we're looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner?

Please go ahead and enjoy the turkey and all the trimmings tomorrow (I know I will!), but please don't forget to schedule regular meals with Jesus. He's waiting for you to come to His table to eat and drink of Him.

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life:
he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
    John 6:35

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
    Matthew 5:6.

  • Happy Thanksgiving Day to you and yours - hope you have a wonderful day.   This blog is particularly fitting for what we studied this morning at our women's bible study ---- the passage in John 4 where Jesus has his chat with the Samaritan woman at the well (living water) and the discourse he gave his disciples about real food!

  • @nicolevw - Hi Nicole, I always love when God connects the dots like that for us, i.e.-when we hear the same theme/message in one or more places.

  • Thank you, I needed to be reminded of this. Could have never came at a better time.

  • @Christenstein - Thanks. We always need to be reminded since we too often forget! That's part of what we're supposed to be doing for one another in the Body of Christ reminding one another to keep abiding in Him, to keep eating of Him. It's amazing how often we go after the pigs' food when we have a feast waiting for us in our Father's house! Psalm 145:14-16.
