  • Things To Look for in a Church, 1: A God-glorifying and God-exalting People

    A God-glorifying and God-exalting People.
The Church is mindful that she has not been created for herself but for God. Ephesians 1: that we might be to the praise of His glorious grace. The Church has been formed to declare and display His praise, power, honor and glory (e.g.-Rom. 11:36; Isaiah 41:20, 43:21, 48:9-11; I Peter 2:9; Eph. 1:11-14; Col. 1:16-18; Ps. 60:4; John 15:8). Too often we think of the Church as being created for us, and what we can get out of it. We must not forget that we exist for the glory of God and not for our own glory. For from him and through him and to him are all things...including the Church...To him be glory forever. Amen. Soli Deo Gloria.

About me...

Christian hedonist in training. Pressing on to know more and more of the joy of the LORD. Pleading with God to rend the heavens and revive and refresh my own soul, as well as His Church, to His praise, honor and glory.

Thank God. He can make men and women in middle life sing again with a joy that has been chastened by a memory of their past failures. ~ Alan Redpath
