National Bible Week: Bibles for Your Christmas List (or not)
In recognition of National Bible Week, as a public service to you and as a commemoration of the purchase of my first Bible just over twenty-five years ago, I am passing along some Bible gift ideas to you.
(My first Bible was a Living Bible, bought at the nearby Shop-Ko store since I didn't know anything about Christian book stores, let alone where one might be located. I had begun to suspect there was something to this Christianity thing, so I bought the Bible intending to read to see if it were true. Little did I suspect God would shepherd me into His Kingdom less than a week later...)
Now, here are those promised Bible gift ideas for those hard to shop for in the younger set....
For the "Princess" in your life (that might even be you!), there's the Princess Bible which includes "sparkling pink binding to appeal to the inner princess of every little girl (and big girl, too)."
Might Queen Ester have read this Bible prior to approaching King Ahasuerus? Or perhaps she might have read . . .
An NIV - Adventure Bible with Bungee Toggle, complete with "a bungee cord and toggle closure-a purple editions (sic) for girls and a blue edition for boys...kids will love its adventurous personality! . . . And they will love spending time with God in this Bible."
Hmm. I wonder if David took this Bible with him along with his sling and the five smooth stones, or perhaps Paul took one with him on his missionary journeys?

I think reading this has done what was previously thought to be impossible. I'm speechless!
So, are you talking yet?
Thankfully, yes! Though it took quite a bit of time.
