| | From Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones:
I am in my thirtieth year in this pulpit, and I am beginning to feel that I am only just beginning to understand this Gospel. It is much more thrilling to me tonight than it was in 1983. Oh, how great it is, and how short time is! There is not time enough to tell you about all the glories of this Gospel as expounded in the epistles of the apostle Paul—the breadth, and length, and depth, and height . . . the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge" (Eph. 3:18-10). Here is is. As I look at is, I am more and more amazed.
–"Compelling Christianity," (Wheaton: Crossway, 2007), 45.
Are you only beginning to feel that you are only beginning to understand the Gospel? Is the Gospel more thrilling to you today than it ever was? As you look at the Gospel are you more and more amazed? Or are you continuing to get excited about a dead fish and a car wreck? |
